Oakland Fine Arts Summer School(OFASS) is a transformative arts program that aims to inspire social change, celebrate diversity, and foster inclusivity through visual and performing arts. We offer a comprehensive curriculum, experienced instructors, and a supportive environment for students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills.
Our summer program is open to students that have completed kindergarten by May 31st of the upcoming summer session. We welcome children that have a passion for the arts and a desire to learn and grow in a creative environment. We strive to create an inclusive space where everyone feels valued and supported.
Oakland Fine Arts Summer School offers a wide range of art disciplines, including visual arts (such as drawing, painting, sculpture, set design), theater, vocal and instrumental music, dance, and circus arts. Our diverse curriculum allows students to explore different art forms and discover their areas of interest.
OFASS is a 5-week summer program.
The 2024 summer session will take place Monday, June 3 – Friday, July 5, 2024.
The Oakland community sees the value of exposing our children to the arts and passed Measure G to support this endeavor.

No, previous artistic experience is not required to participate in our summer program. We welcome students of all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced artists. Our instructors are skilled at tailoring the curriculum to meet the needs and abilities of each student.
Applications will be available March 4 – May 1, 2024 or until all slots are filled. Selection will be made by the number of students allocated per grade and the overall number of students applied by school.
The health and safety of our participants and staff are our top priority. We closely monitor and adhere to local and state health guidelines. Specific information will be provided closer to the program start date.
